Brand Identity design for a theater and performance coaching studio, to include: logo, color palette, and typography.
The client needed a brand identity for a theater and performance coaching studio.
I began this project by sending Naomi Bailis a questionnaire and reading her responses to understand her goals, priorities, and values in starting this business. Next, I conducted extensive market research, from which I produced a market research report that provided a visual overview of some of her likely competitors.
I then used the market research report and the questionnaire responses to develop a brand document that establishes the brand archetype and provides an overview of the Explorer archetype. Finally, I created a mood board that would serve as the visual inspiration for the brand identity.
I began by printing out various black and white images of birds, which I used to identify a variety of bird silhouettes that could serve as the foundation of the logo.
Using the brand document and moodboard for inspiration, I refined the options in Adobe Illustrator until I had compiled several finalists. I then sent these finalists to the client for feedback.
As you can see, Naomi really connected with one of the options. After getting this feedback, I got to work fleshing out the brand identity. I perfected the logo, selected typography, and finalized a color palette. For this brand identity, I included three versions of the logo: default stack, expanded stack (including the word "studios"), and expanded horizontal.
This brand identity was used to launch Naomi's successful studio, setting the foundation for promotional materials such as this business card. It was also used to design Naomi's website.
